Shipping Policies

Shipment method:
Smith Island is more than 10 miles from the mainland by ferry, and so shipping cakes takes a little effort.
The best way to get cakes off the island, and straight to you, is the mail boat. The boat stops at SIBC’s
pier every morning at 7:00 a.m. (except for Sundays). All of our shipments are Priority Mail from the US
Postal Service, and usually arrive within two business days.
Unless you request otherwise, your cake will usually ship the morning after we receive the order. No
matter where your cake is headed, we’re confident it will be as beautiful when it arrives as when we put
it in the box. If you’re not completely satisfied, just let us know and we’ll make it right.
Packaging:
Every cake comes in a custom SIBC cake box, inside a custom, Styrofoam lined shipper. Customers have
the option to purchase a custom SIBC cake tin.
Each cake is made from scratch, and accompanied by a card stock autographed by the bakers.
