About our Logos
The Smith Island Baking Co. has two distinct logos. In telling you a little about our logos, we think you will understand a little more about who we are and what we value.
We call our first logo "The Three Churches." Smith Island comprises three villages: Tylerton, Ewell, and Rhodes Point, whose populations are approximately 50, 150, and 50, respectively. SIBC has employees from all three villages. Over the centuries, each village has developed its own distinct character, but that character was forged by a strong sense of community, a faith in God, and an appreciation for, and dependence on, the Chesapeake Bay. The Three Churches logo is a tribute to that common heritage.
We call our second logo "The Rising Sun." Although Smith Island is known for its magnificent sunsets, we chose the sunrise as a symbol of things to come. Smith Island has a long and storied history, but we are just as optimistic about our future.
